Meet Your Proofreader

Hi, I’m Timothy.

I’m a small business owner and full-time transcript proofreader.  I help court reporters and stenographers produce clear and precise transcripts under urgent deadlines.  I’ve built my business on the principle that accuracy, consistency, and client-centered service matter.  I’m experienced in proofreading transcripts for federal and civil court proceedings, examinations under oath, voir dire, depositions, medical malpractice, and expert testimony.

I’m a graduate of Elizabeth Wiegner’s Transcript Proofreading Academy, where I was trained to thoughtfully proofread and annotate verbatim legal records for readability without altering the speaker’s words or tone.  I bring sharp research and fact-checking skills to every transcript I review, ensuring accuracy and consistency.  My strong written and verbal communication skills help me build great working relationships with court reporters, making the proofreading process smooth and efficient.

Before launching my business, I worked in healthcare for 20 years.  As a Registered Nurse, I specialized in trauma, critical care, and organ/tissue donation.  I’ve also worked in manager and director roles in quality assurance, healthcare auditing, and regulatory compliance. My experience working in high-stakes environments strengthened my ability to focus on critical details in time-sensitive situations.  This is a skill that directly informs my work as a proofreader.

I’m based in New York City and work with court reporters from across the United States. When I’m not proofreading, I enjoy cooking for family and friends, exploring new places, and attending live performances and concerts.  My coworker/receptionist/office manager/marketing director is a 4-year-old French bulldog named Hank.
